Victim Services

The Victims Services Division of the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff facilitates mutual understanding and open communication between the courts and the victims of domestic crime, their families, and our community. This division intervenes on behalf of victims in domestic crises and acts as their advocate during the filing of an emergency protective order and the procession of their cases through the judicial system.

This division is composed of experienced and professional personnel -- all of whom have an in-depth knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the challenges of coping with domestic trauma. In addition to the initial crisis intervention and assessment, we create an appropriate strategy for their long-term assistance and recovery.

The Division also offers referrals to and coordination with other community resources and agencies that offer services to the victims of domestic crimes and their families. We work closely with these community agencies in order to best serve the victim and to prevent the duplication of services.

Please contact or visit the Victims Services Division for more information.
