Lexington-Fayette County
TRIAD
The
Right
Information
and
Direction
In 1999, Sheriff Kathy Witt nurtured the development
of TRIAD in the Lexington-Fayette County area following
a joint survey conducted by the Sanders-Brown Center on
Aging and our Office. This survey sought to assess the
needs of the elderly in our community. These metrics
brought into focus the need to decrease the criminal
victimization of the elderly and increase the concept of
cooperation among local agencies and the elderly.
By April of 1999, local TRIAD meetings were taking
place to advance the elderly’s agenda in the
Lexington-Fayette County area. These meetings are open
to the public. For information on these meetings, please
feel free to contact our Office.
What specifically does the Lexington-Fayette County

McGruff the Crime Dog®
National Crime
Prevention Council
McGruff the Crime Dog® is a national icon that began
in 1980. The mission of this successful advertising
campaign has been to teach children and others that law
enforcement cannot fight crime alone. We participate in
this program by visiting local schools who request a
visit from McGruff®. Our past sessions have been
incredibly successful and, without a doubt, have
strengthened our community's fight against crime.
If you would like McGruff® to visit your school,
please contact our Office at 859-252-1771.
